Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer, Product Development

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Heart Failure/Mechanical Circulatory Support (HF/MCS) R&D organization. As a key member of our Electrical Engineering R&D team, you will be responsible for leading new product development activities, including requirements definition, feasibility testing, electrical design, verification testing, component evaluation, and support of cross-functional project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering activities, including design reviews and test execution
  • Develop and execute electrical test protocols, write test reports, and develop test fixtures/automation
  • Support execution and management of logistics for external testing
  • Participate in technical design reviews and ensure program objectives are met
  • Optimize electrical circuits and battery management systems through characterization, modeling, and data analysis
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of experience
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field, plus 3+ years of experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in electrical design and qualification
  • Experience with Medical Device development or other regulated industry
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of sound design principles and practices

This position works out of our Burlington, MA location and requires infrequent US travel to other Abbott sites and some local travel to external test sites.
