Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer, Product Development

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, Product Development, you will play a key role in Abbott's Heart Failure/Mechanical Circulatory Support (HF/MCS) R&D organization. You will be responsible for leading new product development activities, including requirements definition, feasibility testing, electrical design, verification testing, component evaluation, and support of cross-functional project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead electrical engineering activities, including developing V&V test protocols, test execution, and writing test reports.
  • Develop test methods, test fixtures, and automation software as needed.
  • Support execution and management of logistics for external testing as needed.
  • Participate in technical design reviews on electrical designs.
  • Ensure that program objectives are determined and met, and resources are effectively utilized.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of experience.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field, plus 3+ years of experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in electrical design and development of medical devices or other regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of sound design principles and practices.
  • Good proficiency with general lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and programmable loads.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and taking initiatives to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with battery technologies and solutions.
  • Understanding of good documentation practices.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Good hands-on analog and digital circuit design experience for embedded systems.
