Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician to join our team at the Children's Hospital of Richmond. As a key member of our Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, you will be responsible for providing exceptional clinical care to patients, teaching and mentoring students and residents, and contributing to research and academic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Education: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, residents, and fellows in the area of pediatric gastroenterology.
  • Research and Academic Activities: Conduct research funded by grants or contracts, and participate in clinical, translational, and outcomes research.
  • Service and Leadership: Serve on departmental or School of Medicine committees, and participate in professional service through journal review, conference presentations, and other activities.
  • Clinical Care: Provide clinical GI care, including call coverage and inpatient care responsibilities.
  • Administrative Duties: Take on administrative duties associated with this role, including leadership and management responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Experience with clinical care of pediatric GI patients ages birth to 21
  • Experience in an academic medical center
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
