Mission of the Unit: To deliver exceptional, empathetic, and pioneering clinical care to our patients utilizing advanced knowledge and resources, while also engaging in and sharing clinical research and scholarship, particularly focused on patient care and the education of future healthcare professionals.

Primary Objective of this Role: The Department of Internal Medicine is in search of a clinician with a passion for general Gastroenterology to operate within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical - Deliver clinical services in the gastroenterology clinics; engage in the inpatient management of patients with gastrointestinal disorders, participate in the Digestive Health Service, and execute diagnostic endoscopic procedures.

Education - Provide instruction to medical students, residents, and fellows regarding the management of patients with gastrointestinal conditions.

Research - Investigate health disparities, opioid misuse, and outcomes related to inflammatory bowel disease to formulate strategies for community-based implementation aimed at enhancing access and treatment efficacy.

Essential Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Proficient in diagnostic endoscopy Valid medical license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia Proven experience in fostering a diverse environment or a commitment to do so as a faculty member
