Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional customer service in person or by phone, answering calls and directing them to the appropriate department.
- Process guest services transactions, including credits, refunds, and lottery ticket sales, in accordance with company policies.
- Operate cash registers and assist guests with self-checkouts, handling a variety of products, including dry groceries, frozen foods, and dairy products.
- Process financial transactions, including cash, checks, credit cards, and food stamps, and bag customer purchases.
- Maintain knowledge of current store programs and product locations.
- Understand and operate check-stand equipment efficiently.
- Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, and product handling.
- Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers and model high standards of service.
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked department, ensuring compliance with company safety and sanitation procedures.
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- Good customer service and organizational skills, with attention to detail
The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is also subject to a typical retail store environment and may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
