Job Title: Housekeeping Team Leader Department: Housekeeping

Reports to: Executive Housekeeper FLSA: Non-exempt

Job Objective: To assist the Executive Housekeeper in organizing and supervising the cleaning of guest accommodations and all communal areas, while managing the housekeeping team effectively.

Key Responsibilities: To uphold the cleanliness of the entire establishment in accordance with company standards.

Specific Duties:

  • Open and close the housekeeping division as required, prepare room assignment reports for cleaning staff, and delegate daily tasks to housemen.
  • Oversee all personnel assigned to the department.
  • Foster positive working relationships and collaboration with all other departments.
  • Collect all room assignment reports and keys at the end of the day, ensuring all floors are secure.
  • Ensure all staff members have the necessary tools to fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Maintenance department to address any issues promptly.
  • Enforce all standards in guest rooms and public areas for safety and cleanliness.
  • Conduct daily inspections of rooms to verify that all standards are met.
  • Assist in supervising the replenishment of all linen closets.
  • Document all lost and found items.
  • Coordinate and communicate any follow-up items or issues to guarantee guest satisfaction.
  • Help maintain all department cleaning logs as per hotel standards.
  • This establishment operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, is required.
  • Handle all interactions with hotel employees and/or guests in a friendly, professional, service-oriented manner.
  • Must adhere to hotel and brand standards to ensure the safety of all guests and employees.
  • Report any maintenance equipment issues to the supervisor.
  • Notify the supervisor of any health, safety, or hazard concerns.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Good communication skills are essential.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in a supervisory or leadership role within housekeeping or a related field.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills:

  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to convey and relay ideas and information clearly and effectively.

Equipment/Computer Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of PC and understanding of a Windows operating system. Ability to be trained on the hotel's property management system.

Physical Demands:

  • May be required to frequently or consistently move, lift, or push up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, or bending is required for the majority of the shift.

Work Environment:

  • Must work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to work under supervision, accepting and understanding coaching, counseling, instructions, and/or feedback.
  • A neat and professional appearance is required, including wearing name tags and uniforms at all times.

Safety & Security: The safety and security of our guests and associates is paramount. Every associate should adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and concerns.
