Position Overview

Role Summary

A Sorting/Receiving Technician plays a crucial role in the logistics process by managing the unloading of incoming products, organizing them, and liaising with relevant personnel as necessary. This position involves the categorization, handling, and preparation of Invasive Devices, DVTs, Pulse Oximeters, and ECGs. The technician is also responsible for completing all required documentation at the Medline ReNewal facility. Compliance with Medline ReNewal's standard operating procedures and FDA regulations is essential to ensure the safety of patients.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Unload and receive incoming shipments of devices and materials from shipping providers.
  • Organize and sort each batch of incoming contaminated devices accurately and safely.
  • Notify the appropriate personnel regarding any discrepancies or unexpected items received.
  • Reject devices that do not meet the reprocessing criteria or are deemed ineligible.
  • Implement decontamination procedures for devices that are heavily contaminated, whether for reprocessing or rejection.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure production targets are met or exceeded.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic English communication skills for interaction with management and colleagues.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 10-hour shifts, with scheduled meal and rest breaks.
  • Capacity to work in a space equipped with washing machines, dryers, and limited mobility.
  • Tolerance for moderate to high noise levels in the work environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull device batches weighing an average of 50 lbs multiple times daily.
  • Competence in performing repetitive tasks, including small motion activities throughout the shift.
  • Attention to detail to identify product discrepancies or defects and take appropriate action.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
