Job Summary
We're seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Care Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our care team, you'll provide excellent patient-centered care and services to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic assessment, medication management, and follow-up to patients under direction and supervision of psychiatrists.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
- Participate in the credentialing process with managed care companies by providing personal information, as needed.
- Participate in process and program quality improvement initiatives to improve care for patients.
- Participate in patient case conferences and departmental/agency meetings, as directed.
- Impact patient experience by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracy.
- Complete patient medical record documentation according to company policies and procedures.
- Shares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with Care Teams.
- Operates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Valid CA Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nursing license or Valid CA Physician Assistant license required.
- For Nurse Practitioners, Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required.
- For Physician Assistants, Psychiatric Certified Added Qualifications (CAQ) preferred.
- Valid DEA license required.
- Valid BLS certification from approved American Health Association provider required upon hire.
- Completion of advanced pharmacology course with class II controlled substances required.
Additional Requirements
- Accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Program must be completed in-person; online programs are not acceptable.
- Proficiency in Spanish is required for this position.
Salary Range
$143,438-$172,643 annually, depending on experience.
