Job Title: Health Educator II, Wellness Specialist

Job Summary: The Health Educator II, Wellness Specialist will be responsible for assessing, designing, implementing, presenting, and evaluating health education programs and services. This includes conducting needs assessments, designing and implementing basic health education programs, protocols, and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts needs assessments to establish priorities and designs health education programs and services.
  • Coordinates health education services, including establishing effective referral and publicity systems, monitoring quality and documentation, and providing scheduling and logistical support.
  • Provides direct group or one-on-one health education services to members and the public.
  • Reviews, develops, and recommends high-quality health education materials.
  • Consults with physicians and staff regarding health education services.
  • Coordinates health information projects, such as program catalogs, newsletters, and community health events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the position, such as health education, nutrition, or public health.
  • Previous experience in providing and coordinating health education services.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of PC applications and mainframe and personal computing systems.
  • Ability to work in a Labor Management Partnership Environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of recent teaching/program planning experience.
  • Knowledge of behavior change, adult learning theory, and curriculum development.
  • Ability to use effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Location: San Francisco, CA.
