Care Surgery Center LLC: Veterinary Assistant Position

**Job Summary:**

  • Assist the veterinarian in examining pets and animals for signs of illness or injury, utilizing expertise in animal behavior and physiology.
  • Administer treatments under supervision, adhering to established medical protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist in procedures, surgeries, and routine care, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

**General Knowledge:**

  • Familiarize yourself with the range of services provided by Care Surgery Center LLC, including medical procedures and diagnostic tests.
  • Be knowledgeable about breeds, coat colors, and medical abbreviations, enabling effective communication with veterinarians and clients.
  • Understand common parasites and preventatives, as well as zoonotic diseases and infectious diseases, to provide accurate information to clients.

**General Accountabilities:**

  • Arrive on time for shifts, maintaining a punctual and reliable work ethic.
  • Maintain personal time clock records, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Keep a professional appearance, adhering to dress code and grooming standards.
  • Handle stress with poise, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Assist in emergencies and critical-care situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.

**Reception Accountabilities:**

  • Answer phones, assist with client payments and information, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Handle client interactions with professionalism, resolving issues and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide accurate information to clients, addressing their questions and concerns in a clear and concise manner.

**Client-Interaction Accountabilities:**

  • Greet clients and patients warmly, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Update client records and provide information about pet care, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Offer counselling on pet procedures and services, providing expert advice and guidance.

**Pet Identification Accountabilities:**

  • Scan for microchips, tags, and tattoos, ensuring accurate identification of pets.
  • Assist clients in registering pet identification, providing support and guidance throughout the process.

**Medical Record Accountabilities:**

  • Update medical files, record doctor findings, and client communications, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Ensure records are complete and up-to-date, adhering to company policies and procedures.

**Exam Room Accountabilities:**

  • Clean and prepare exam rooms for patients, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with medical procedures and examinations, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Record accurate instructions for medications, ensuring clear and concise communication.

**Nursing Care Accountabilities:**

  • Monitor patient behaviors and conditions, providing timely and effective interventions as needed.
  • Maximize patient comfort and cleanliness, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Provide medical grooming and treatments, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

**Patient Treatment Accountabilities:**

  • Administer medications, wound dressings, and treatments, adhering to established medical protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitor patient conditions and vital signs, providing timely and effective interventions as needed.
  • Provide IV and SQ fluid therapy, ensuring accurate and safe administration.

**Technical Accountabilities:**

  • Assist in veterinary procedures and examinations, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and disease control in animal holding areas, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Monitor post-operative patients and notify veterinarians of any changes, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
