About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team at PetSuites. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our furry guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Care: Ensure that each guest receives respectful and dignified treatment, including providing appropriate amounts of food and water, and cleaning and sanitizing food and water bowls daily.
  • Environmental Enrichment: Clean up dog waste, urine, and vomit multiple times throughout your shift, and maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following our standards of cleaning and disinfecting rooms.
  • Exercise and Play: Walk dogs on leash to and from outside exercise areas, engage in play activities with pets, including fetch, exercise walks, chase, agility, follow the leader, recall, and basic obedience games.
  • Supervision and Conflict Resolution: Supervise activities of multiple dogs throughout the day, monitor for potential conflicts or escalations, and redirect or remove dogs from the situation as needed.
  • Documentation and Communication: Monitor guest health by daily charting of eating and elimination habits, document playtime interactions, and communicate with clients about their dog's behavior and needs.
  • Facility Maintenance: Operate washer and dryer to clean pet belongings, towels, and other items, and ensure the facility meets or exceeds our expectations for cleanliness and safety.
Requirements
  • Passion for Animal Care: A genuine passion for animals and animal care, with a willingness to learn animal behavior to ensure their safety.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to take care of clients' needs while following company procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate directly with clients about their dog's behavior and needs.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Ability to work as part of a team, with a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with physical demands including sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping.
