This position is within a flexible staffing pool, providing support across various clinics and hospital settings. Weekend on-call duties are required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts proper skin preparation and electrode placement for all stress tests, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and identifying any contraindications for the tests. Maintains ongoing communication with physicians to align on testing preferences and procedures; initiates IVs, prepares, and administers medications intravenously under physician supervision as necessary, and assists in medical emergencies.
  • Ensures precise documentation of patient information in electronic systems, gathers routine measurements, prepares data for physician review, and performs patient assessments (e.g., blood pressure monitoring) before and during procedures.
  • Manages patient communications, interviews patients, monitors critical test results, and provides necessary instructions for cardiac event monitoring, including scheduling follow-up calls with physicians.
  • Identifies normal waveforms, artifacts, and significant changes in patient rhythms, including life-threatening arrhythmias, and communicates critical findings to medical staff.
  • Assists in processing medical information, including editing, billing, and filing, while serving as a resource for clinical information to other staff and physicians, ensuring compliance with patient safety and privacy regulations.
  • Maintains the integrity of testing equipment, performs calibration and troubleshooting, and communicates any technical issues to the appropriate departments. Responsible for cleaning and stocking supplies and maintaining emergency equipment.
  • Performs patient positioning and transport duties, which require physical strength and proper technique.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the principles of growth and development across the lifespan, and assessing patient data to meet individual needs.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) must be obtained within six months unless otherwise determined by the department leader.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) must also be obtained within six months unless otherwise determined by the department leader.
Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience Required:
  • No prior experience is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Completion of an accredited basic ECG interpretation course is required within one year of hire.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with physicians, patients, and team members.
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of:
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs. overhead.
  • Carring up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Pushing/pulling with a force of 30 lbs.
  • Performing a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with assistance.
  • Frequently pushing and pulling over 100 lbs. to transport patients and equipment.
  • Utilizing hands for fine manipulation, particularly in electrode application.
  • Exhibiting functional hearing and speech for effective communication, along with good vision and tactile sensitivity for task performance.
  • Being exposed to patients and potential electrical hazards, necessitating the use of protective clothing as required.
  • Operating all necessary equipment for job functions.
  • Any exceptions to the above mental and physical requirements must be documented through Employee Health.
