Diesel Service Technician

The primary function of the PacLease Service Technician is to perform routine maintenance services and repairs on Lease and Rental vehicles at various customer locations. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
Performs all preventive maintenance and servicing of fleet vehicles as directed by PacLease Service Manager/supervisor.
Diagnoses mechanical, electrical or other service problems, determining necessary repairs and reporting them to the PacLease Service Manager/supervisor.
Performs additional maintenance and/or repairs as directed by Service Manager/Supervisor.
Operates Mobile Maintenance Vehicle, performing and/or assisting with emergency service and scheduled maintenance of fleet vehicles.
Maintains company trucks and tools to keep them clean, safe and operational.
Generates maintenance and service records of fleet vehicles serviced, including fleet vehicle inspection and maintenance reports, and forwards them to the PacLease Service Manager/Supervisor in a timely manner.
Requirements
High School Diploma or the equivalent.
Working knowledge of truck repair and maintenance.
Five years of experience as Technician's helper or apprentice in truck dealership.
Manual dexterity.
Good judgment.
Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely.
Experienced in MIG, Stick, aluminum welding and Oxy/Acetylene torch use.
Hydraulic systems experience preferred.
Driver's License and good driving record.
Working Conditions
This is a physically demanding position. The technician will stand six to eight hours per shift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. The technician will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds and use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment. The technician will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
