Pharmacy Technician Job Description

Fort Washington Medical Center is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and execution of role-specific functions and operations
  • Generate reports and participate in improvement projects
  • Perform responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician I and/or Pharmacy Technician II
  • Working knowledge of common outpatient medication doses and dosage forms, practice standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to use a computer for day-to-day tasks
  • Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred
  • At least 3 years experience in a hospital setting, with automated distribution systems, decentralized pharmacy services, and sterile compounding. Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels preferred
  • Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required
  • Full time 40 hours per week Day, Evenings, Weekends
