About the Role
Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the high-volume production operations for our communication satellite production. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Lean initiatives to improve daily operations, ensuring safety and product quality, and working closely with manufacturing engineering and other teams to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion Amazon's Leadership Principles to drive a culture of ownership, accountability, teamwork, and working hard while having fun.
- Create a culture of safety and quality through active engagement and leadership of the technician workforce.
- Establish great working relationships with design engineering, quality, EH&S, and supply chain teams.
- Drive operational excellence with a combination of data analytics and Lean operations.
- Lead implementation of personal performance management standards across multiple Kuiper Value Streams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience manufacturing of space/aerospace hardware.
- 3+ years of technical leadership roles in operations.
- 3+ years people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading hourly and salaried workforces in a production environment.
- Experienced with various automated manufacturing processes, including assembly and test methods at component level, subsystem, and system level.
- Experienced with handling and tracking systems for continuous material flow to manufacturing lines.
- Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.) a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
