Job Overview

49th State Brewing - Anchorage is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant, maintaining high standards of service, and supporting the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Restaurant Operations: Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring seamless coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
  • Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service and address customer concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and training to maintain high performance standards, and foster a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage scheduling, payroll, and other administrative tasks to ensure efficient operation, and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring minimal waste and optimal profitability.
  • Sales and Profitability: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability, analyzing sales data and market trends to inform business decisions.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Cash Management: Handle cash management, including cash-outs, deposits, and financial reporting, maintaining accurate records and ensuring financial integrity.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or brewery.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve high performance standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, guests, and suppliers.
  • Restaurant Operations Knowledge: Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house management, with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in scheduling, payroll, and inventory management software, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
