School Age Program Educator at Children's Choice Learning

Children's Choice Learning is a reputable educational institution dedicated to providing quality care and learning experiences for children. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Educator for our School Age program.

The ideal candidate should possess a genuine passion for working with children, demonstrate patience, and exhibit excellent communication abilities. The School Age Educator will adhere to all organizational and regulatory guidelines and will report directly to the Site Director or the Assistant Director in their absence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Fulfill the requirements set forth by the Department of Social Services under Title V for educators: A minimum of 12 units of Early Childhood Education coursework relevant to infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children. Teaching Credential, Child Care Permit or Certificate, or a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  2. At least 6 months of full-time or one year of part-time experience in a similar role.
  3. Candidates must be personable, dependable, and child-focused.
  4. Preferred: background in recreation, arts, or proficiency in a musical instrument.
  5. Proven capability to interact effectively and professionally with children, families, and colleagues.
  6. Demonstrated skills in effective communication, both verbal and written.
  7. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Site Director and/or Assistant Director, the Educator will be responsible for the following areas:
  1. Ensure the safety and well-being of all enrolled children, supervising them during all activities.
  2. Assist in maintaining appropriate standards for children's discipline and behavior using non-punitive methods.
  3. Oversee day-to-day operations, fostering a harmonious and efficient work environment.
  4. Plan and implement engaging curriculum activities, including arts and crafts, group time, science, indoor and outdoor games, snacks, lunch, and tutoring.
  5. Develop and maintain professional relationships with classroom educators, program colleagues, families, and other staff members.
  6. Participate in all staff meetings, training sessions, and other work-related activities.
  7. Commit to ongoing professional development.
  8. Transport children between educational settings using company vehicles.
  9. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  10. Other responsibilities as assigned.
