About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Claims Adjuster to join our team at USAA. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling complex property insurance claims presented by or against our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and evaluate complex property insurance claims, including those involving moderate to large severity losses.
  • Negotiate equitable settlements in compliance with all state regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Identify and resolve potential discrepancies and subrogation potential resulting from unusual characteristics.
  • Determine coverage through analyzing investigation information involving moderate complexity policy terms and contingencies.
  • Negotiate moderate complexity claims settlements and develop recommendations for determining settlement amounts outside of authority limits.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • 2 years relevant property adjusting and/or claims adjusting experience handling moderately complex claims or construction related industry/insurance experience.
  • Developing knowledge of residential construction.
  • Working knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools and negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Working knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law and state laws.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, including navigating through multiple business needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the year (local & non-local) and/or work catastrophe duty when needed.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.

USAA offers a competitive salary range of $61,110 - $110,000, paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.
