Job Summary:

Jobs for Humanity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director to join our team. As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of our productions, including set construction, lighting and sound design, and stage management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all technical aspects of productions, including set construction, lighting and sound design, and stage management.
  • Collaborate with directors, designers, and other production staff to ensure seamless execution of productions.
  • Manage and maintain the theatre's technical equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and implement technical budgets and schedules.
  • Train and mentor students and staff in technical theatre skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Theatre or related field.
  • At least two years of experience in technical production, preferably in a theatre or performing arts setting.
  • Strong carpentry skills and knowledge of lighting and sound equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children and adults.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with crew management and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of theatre design and production elements.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
