Job Summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Clinician III/IV to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a clinical field and be licensed as a LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or be actively working towards licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The successful candidate will have the ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide individual counseling to clients. Experience in behavioral health or addiction is preferred, as well as clinical expertise specific to adults with substance use conditions and co-occurring severe and persistent mental illness.

The Behavioral Health Clinician III/IV will work closely with the MMAT clinical team to coordinate client services and build working relationships with agencies and organizations to facilitate referrals and care coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts eligibility screenings and comprehensive intake and follow-up assessments to assess eligibility, gather clinical information, and inform treatment planning.
  • Conducts client evaluations, including bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnostic formulations, and initial treatment plan recommendations.
  • Meets with clients to provide individual counseling and assist clients in attaining treatment goals.
  • Writes treatment plans, including clients' strengths with behaviorally based goals and objectives, and documents service delivery in accordance with department standards and progress of goals and objectives in progress notes.
  • Refers clients to resources within and outside CHL.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case discussions, recognizes and seeks consultation as needed, and develops a training plan to enhance professional growth.
  • Participates in utilization management, employs Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards, and assists as needed in re-accreditation processes.
  • Builds working relationships with agencies and organizations in support of clients' recovery to facilitate referrals and care coordination.
  • Works closely with the MMAT clinical team to coordinate client services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a clinical field.
  • Licensed as a LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or actively working towards licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments using current accepted tools and practices to determine appropriate level of care.
  • Ability to develop and implement treatment plans that are behaviorally oriented, measurable, and appropriate for the identified level of care.
  • Ability and interest to learn and implement evidence-based models of treatment for opioid addiction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in behavioral health or addiction.
  • Clinical expertise specific to adults with substance use conditions and co-occurring severe and persistent mental illness with an ability to engage clients effectively and work with other professionals and organizations.
