Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Clinician II to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our psychiatric inpatient team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients with acute and chronic mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the behavioral health team, medical team, and community stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide trauma-informed individual, group, and family therapy services to patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement discharge and aftercare plans to ensure a smooth transition to community-based care.
  • Coordinate services with community providers, including knowledge of community resources, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurances.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Human Services (e.g., Social Work, Professional Counseling) required.
  • Licensed as a LGPC or LMSW in the state of Maryland required.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with acute and chronic mental illness in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills of behavioral health clinical practice in a variety of settings.
  • Effective critical thinking, professional and effective written and verbal communication, and ability to prioritize work assignments and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, assess and adapt to changing environments, and make independent decisions consistent with current policies and procedures.
