Our organization provides a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health care, including inpatient and outpatient services, primary care offices, intensive outpatient programs, inpatient psychiatry, crisis centers, and emergency departments. As a Behavioral Health Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our strong leadership team to provide high-quality care and services to patients.

Job Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Occupational Therapist will provide therapeutic care and services to patients, including assessments, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication of Occupational Therapy. The therapist will work with patients on an individual basis and through facilitation of group therapy, conducting therapeutic activities and practicing values and attitudes congruent with the profession's standards and ethics.

The incumbent will serve an adult patient population age 18 and older in both the psychiatric inpatient setting and behavioral health outpatient setting.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • A current license to practice occupational therapy in the State of Maryland.
  • BLS certification.
  • Acute care experience.

Additionally, you will need to have completion of student affiliations and internships, previous work experience in neuro psych population, and the ability to adapt to variable and changing needs of the organization.

You will also need to possess strong verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to instruct others, and interpersonal skills to enable you to establish and maintain rapport with individual patients as well as groups.
