Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Shift Supervisor to enhance our team. In this role, you will support the management team by providing leadership to achieve club objectives, cultivate a high-performing workforce, and ensure the club's financial success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Assist the Club Manager by offering peer guidance.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Establish a welcoming environment for all members, prospective members, guests, and staff by training and mentoring team members to adhere to excellent customer service standards.
  • Operational Management:
    • Help oversee projects and timelines, ensuring the club remains clean and organized.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Assist in addressing or escalating staff issues or concerns professionally.
  • Staff Support:
    • Provide coverage for absent employees as needed.
  • Club Maintenance:
    • Maintain cleanliness at the front desk and lobby areas.
    • Conduct regular inspections of the club every 30 minutes to ensure cleanliness, including restocking supplies and tidying up.
    • Regularly sanitize all fitness equipment and facilities.
    • Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and organized by following a routine cleaning schedule.
  • Front Desk Operations:
    • Answer phone calls in a friendly manner and assist callers with various inquiries.
    • Check members into the system upon arrival.
    • Assist with the registration of new members.
    • Communicate updates and events to members and guests.
    • Provide tours for prospective members.
    • Help members schedule and log the use of amenities.
    • Respond to member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to the Club Manager when necessary.
    • Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
  • Member Account Management:
    • Issue new membership cards.
    • Update address information.
    • Process electronic funds transfer changes.
    • Address billing or payment inquiries.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Order club supplies within the specified budget.
    • Track key performance indicators such as guest counts and cancellations.
Qualifications:

Preferred experience includes 6-12 months in customer service, ideally within the fitness sector. A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old. Basic computer skills with attention to detail are essential. Punctuality and reliability are crucial. Exceptional customer service abilities are necessary, with a focus on positive interactions with members and colleagues. Strong listening skills and the ability to empathize and resolve issues are important. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves continuous standing and walking, frequent communication in person or via phone, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals may occur.
