Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Execute and finalize tax returns and reports pertinent to federal and state income taxes. Aid in the preparation and evaluation of federal and state income tax returns along with quarterly estimated and extension payment calculations.
  • Tax Provision Management: Assist in the corporate income tax provision process ensuring adherence to US GAAP/SEC reporting as dictated by ASC 740.
  • Tax Audits: Provide support during federal and state income tax audits, ensuring prompt and precise responses to audit inquiries.
  • Tax Research & Strategy Development: Investigate changes in tax legislation to ascertain suitable tax methodologies and pinpoint tax-saving opportunities for the organization. Draft tax position papers and technical memoranda to substantiate the company's tax strategies.
  • Specialized Projects: Engage in various specialized projects and support ad hoc tax assignments as required, including research & development initiatives, management of the fixed assets tax ledger, and tax notice communications.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Collaborate effectively with other departments, including finance and accounting, to ensure cohesive handling of tax-related issues.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in income tax compliance and income tax accounting reporting under ASC 740.
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
  • Ability to apply judgment within established procedures and practices.
  • Exhibit proactive engagement to provide recommendations and support decision-making processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in drafting tax position papers and technical memoranda.
