Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in managing all on-site construction activities for large-scale commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial construction practices and be able to read and interpret construction documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Superintendent in overseeing daily on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure work is completed on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor job site safety and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work is performed correctly and meets quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining project documentation, including daily reports, field logs, and safety records.
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings with project managers, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Help manage project schedules, monitor progress, and identify potential delays or issues.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to address field issues, changes, and any unforeseen conditions.
  • Assist in managing site logistics, including material deliveries and equipment management.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or relevant field role on large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, including structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and interior finishes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling, safety protocols, and quality control processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to solve problems efficiently.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project).
  • OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred) or equivalent safety training.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

  • Experience working on high-rise, healthcare, or large retail projects.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage crews.
