Job Title: Nursing Professional Development Practitioner

Join our team at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron as a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner. This full-time position offers a 36-hour workweek with four 9-hour shifts, with days and variable onsite department responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the professional development of others, supporting collaborative relationships and lifelong learning.
  • Use the educational design process to bridge knowledge, skills, and practice gaps identified through needs assessment.
  • Influence inter-professional practice and learning environments, the NPD specialty, and the profession of nursing and healthcare through collaboration with leadership in planning and decision making.
  • Actively work to transform processes at all levels through inspiration, initiation, adoption, and sustainment of and adaptation to change using project management and improvement processes.
  • Promote the generation and dissemination of new knowledge and the use of evidence to advance NPD practice, guide clinical practice, and improve patient care.
  • Support the transitions of nurses and other healthcare team members across learning and practice environments, roles, and professional stages.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or BSN with a Master's degree in Nursing within three years.
  • Completion of Nurse Education track of MSN program preferred.
  • Registered Nurse licensure required; BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS certification may be required by area of service.
  • Nursing Professional Development certification preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
