Job Summary:

The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner will be responsible for advancing the profession by contributing to the professional development of others, supporting collaborative relationships, and promoting life-long learning. This role will involve using the educational design process to bridge knowledge, skills, and practice gaps identified through needs assessment. The successful candidate will influence inter-professional practice and learning environments, the NPD specialty, and the profession of nursing and healthcare through collaboration with leadership in planning and decision making to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the professional development of others through education, mentorship, and coaching.
  • Use the educational design process to identify and address knowledge, skills, and practice gaps.
  • Influence inter-professional practice and learning environments through collaboration with leadership.
  • Support the generation and dissemination of new knowledge and the use of evidence to advance NPD practice.
  • Actively promote nursing professional development as a nursing practice specialty.
  • Support the transitions of nurses and other healthcare team members across learning and practice environments, roles, and professional stages.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Education:
Master's degree in Nursing or BSN and in process of attaining Master's degree in Nursing within three years. Completion of Nurse Education track of MSN program is preferred.

Certification: Registered Nurse licensure is required; BLS certification is required; ACLS or PALS certification may be required by area of service.

Nursing Professional Development certification preferred.

Years of relevant experience: 5 or more years is preferred.

Years of experience supervising: None
