About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Professional to join our team at Crescent City Schools. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with special needs and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Job Summary:

The Support Professional will provide personalized care and support to two students, including assistance with feeding, toileting, transfers, and skin hygiene. They will also collaborate with teachers, the school nurse, and the Special Education Director to ensure the students receive the best possible health interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care for two students, including assistance with feeding, toileting, transfers, and skin hygiene.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the school nurse, and the Special Education Director to ensure the students receive the best possible health interventions.
  • Provide basic first aid and emergency care to ill and injured students as directed by the school nurse.
  • Assist and participate in the students' health screening programs.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and healthy environment in the assigned classroom.
  • Maintain the safety and development of the students in his/her care.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to support the students during small groups and whole class instruction.
  • Participate in frequent meetings with parents, teachers, and school leadership.
  • Participate in the life of the school, including student activities and events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • CNA qualification or experience in the field.
  • Certified in CPR.
  • First-aid training & knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Universal Hygiene Precautions.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular sitting, standing, reaching, squatting, walking, talking, hearing, operating a computer and other office equipment, and reaching with hands and arms. The ability to safely lift up to 100 pounds using appropriate safe lifting gait belts is also required.
