Job Duties
  • Perform technical procedures and operate equipment with a high level of expertise, demonstrating decision-making skills in patient assessment and care plan based on desired outcomes of therapy, clinical data, and consultation with physician.
  • Assess patient and family's knowledge deficit regarding cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, adhering to department procedures of accurate documentation, trouble shooting, and correcting artifact, performing all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety.
  • Assume and perform scoring of the polysomnographic record when assigned according to departmental policies and established guidelines, fostering teamwork by treating all staff fairly, facilitating 2-way communication, and having a collaborative attitude.
  • On one's own initiative, assist in writing procedures, giving in-services recognized as necessary by the individual, maintaining knowledge of infrequently used equipment and ordered patient therapeutics.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining supplies and equipment in all areas of the Sleep Center, taking responsibility for reporting and follow-through to biomedical on equipment in need of repair.
  • Actively participate in Quality Assurance departmental activities and objectives, cleaning and maintaining all polysomnographic equipment according to department policy, performing other duties as assigned.
