The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering patient-centered care by performing various clinical tasks under the guidance and supervision of healthcare professionals, including clinicians, RNs, or LVNs. The MA assists in minor medical and surgical procedures and undertakes a wide range of administrative and clerical responsibilities essential for effective patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exemplary behavior and communication skills that reflect the organization's commitment to outstanding customer service and quality care.
  • Safeguard and manage patients' protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Anticipate the needs of the clinician and execute orders efficiently.
  • Monitor patient arrival status and escort patients from waiting areas to examination rooms, as well as to ancillary services when necessary.
  • Collect, document, and relay vital signs and other significant patient information to the RN, LVN, or clinician.
  • Administer various medical procedures and medications in accordance with certification standards.
  • Conduct phlebotomy, process laboratory specimens, and maintain accurate lab specimen logs.
  • Assist clinicians with procedures as required.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all procedures performed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination and treatment areas, specimen processing zones, and medical equipment.
  • Complete or assist with the completion of necessary forms, tracking, and transportation duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant experience.
  • BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Reliable transportation to facilitate travel to client or patient locations.
  • Ability to commute to patient homes 2-3 days a week with a provider.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in an outpatient care setting or military experience as a Medical Assistant/EMT.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Experience in primary or specialty care fields such as pediatrics, pain management, cardiology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, senior care, OBGYN, or urgent care.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to travel to various clinic locations as needed.

Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $16.00 to $28.27. Compensation is determined by several factors, including local labor market conditions, education, work experience, and certifications. Our organization adheres to all applicable minimum wage laws. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive programs, equity stock purchase options, and 401k contributions, all subject to eligibility requirements.
