The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering patient-centered care under the guidance and supervision of healthcare professionals, including clinicians, RNs, or LVNs. The MA assists in minor medical and surgical procedures and carries out a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks associated with patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exemplary behavior and communication skills that reflect the company's dedication to outstanding customer service, ensuring quality care for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Safeguard and manage patients' protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Anticipate the needs of clinicians and execute their directives efficiently.
  • Monitor patient arrival status and guide patients from waiting areas to examination rooms, as well as to ancillary services when necessary.
  • Collect, document, and relay vital signs and relevant patient information to RNs, LVNs, or clinicians.
  • Administer various medical procedures and medications as permitted by certification.
  • Conduct phlebotomy, process laboratory specimens, and maintain accurate logs of lab specimens.
  • Assist clinicians with procedures as requested.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all procedures performed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination and treatment areas, specimen processing zones, and medical equipment.
  • Complete or assist in the completion of necessary forms, tracking, and transport duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant experience.
  • BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Reliable transportation to facilitate travel to client or patient locations.
  • Ability to commute to patient homes a few days a week with a provider.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting or military experience as a Medical Assistant/EMT.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Experience in primary or specialty care, including pediatrics, pain management, cardiology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, senior care, OBGYN, or urgent care.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to travel to various clinic locations as required.

Compensation: The hourly wage for this position ranges from $16.00 to $28.27, based on various factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Our organization adheres to all applicable minimum wage laws.
