The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering patient-focused services under the guidance and oversight of a healthcare provider, RN, or LVN, ensuring safe and effective patient care. The MA supports the provider with minor medical and surgical tasks and performs a wide range of clerical and administrative responsibilities related to patient care assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exemplary behavior and communication skills that reflect the company's dedication to outstanding customer service, including quality care and concern for both internal and external clients.
  • Safeguard and manage patients' protected health information (PHI) in compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
  • Anticipate the needs of the provider and execute orders accordingly.
  • Monitor patients' arrival status and escort them from the waiting area to examination rooms, as well as to ancillary services when necessary.
  • Collect, document, and communicate vital signs and other relevant patient information to the RN, LVN, or provider.
  • Administer various medical procedures and medications as permitted by their certification.
  • Conduct phlebotomy, process laboratory specimens, and maintain accurate lab specimen logs as required.
  • Assist the provider with procedures as needed.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all procedures performed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination and treatment areas, specimen processing areas, and medical equipment.
  • Complete or assist with the completion of necessary forms, tracking, and transport as needed.

Employees will be acknowledged and rewarded for their contributions in an environment that challenges them and provides clear guidance on what it takes to excel in their role, along with opportunities for development in other areas of interest.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant experience.
  • BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to client or patient locations within a designated area.
  • Ability to commute to patients' homes 2-3 days a week with the provider.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in an outpatient care setting or military experience as a Medical Assistant/EMT.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Background in primary care or specialty areas such as pediatrics, pain management, cardiology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, senior care, OBGYN, or urgent care.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to travel to various clinic locations as required.

Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour, based on various factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. The company complies with all applicable minimum wage laws. In addition to salary, a comprehensive benefits package is offered, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contributions (subject to eligibility requirements).

Application Process: This position will remain open for a minimum of 2 business days or until a sufficient candidate pool has been established. Job postings may be removed early due to the volume of applicants.
