Position Summary:

The Facilities Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the organization. This position is essential for ensuring the optimal performance of equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. The Facilities Operations Manager will lead the maintenance team and work closely with vendors and various departments to create a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Strategy and Implementation:
    • Understand and execute the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles within the operational framework.
    • Establish and manage preventive maintenance schedules for machinery, vehicles, and building systems.
    • Coordinate necessary repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
    • Monitor equipment performance and address any issues in a timely manner.
    • Plan and implement capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanics.
    • Delegate tasks, set performance objectives, and provide necessary training.
    • Promote a positive work culture and encourage teamwork.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and oversee the maintenance budget.
    • Optimize expenditures while upholding quality standards.
    • Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities.
    • Participate in the capital budget planning process.
  • Health and Safety Oversight:
    • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
    • Conduct safety inspections and rectify any identified hazards.

  • Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Inventory Control:
    • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.

  • Facility Maintenance:
    • Oversee building maintenance, landscaping, and overall cleanliness.
    • Address facility-related concerns promptly.
    • Plan and execute renovations or improvements as needed.

Impact and Scope:

The Facilities Operations Manager's decisions significantly influence the organization's operational efficiency, safety, and overall productivity. By ensuring equipment reliability and maintaining a well-functioning facility, they contribute to employee satisfaction and the overall success of the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and financial reports.
  • Experience with formal problem-solving methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Certifications such as CMRP, CRL, or CRE.
  • Strong knowledge of TPM, RCM, and FMEA.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, or PLC Programming.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role may involve leading a team of 10 or more employees across multiple facilities.

Physical Requirements: The position may require sitting, repetitive hand motions, listening, talking, standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Occasional lifting of heavier items may be required.
