Job Overview

PAC International is currently seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join our dedicated team. This position is vital to our operations, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of safety and quality in our avionics services.

Key Responsibilities

The Avionics Technician will be responsible for:

  • Fabricating and installing fundamental avionics and electrical systems.
  • Assisting with intricate system installations and tasks.
  • Disassembling and reassembling aircraft interiors as necessary to facilitate avionics installations and repairs.
  • Conducting light sheet metal fabrications as directed to support avionics work.
  • Setting up and laying out wiring harnesses.
  • Completing wiring harness fabrication and installation.
  • Installing antennas and coaxial cables.
  • Performing electrical harness continuity and power checks.
  • Conducting ground operational tests and inspections.
  • Complying with pre- and post-test flight protocols.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is completed for all parts.
  • Adhering to testing procedures.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret aircraft wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of basic electrical components and systems.
  • Proficiency in soldering and terminal/pin crimping techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both digital and analog systems.
  • Familiarity with autopilot systems.
  • Experience with basic avionics testing equipment.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work and being a team player.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current FAA A&P certificate or in the process of obtaining certification.
  • FCC License is advantageous.
  • Experience with helicopters is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AC43.13 standard aircraft wiring practices.
  • Sheet metal experience is a plus.
  • Ability to provide personal tools and toolbox.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to safety.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • High technical aptitude and initiative.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb heights on various equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Must possess sufficient vision to perform essential functions safely.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Work Environment
  • Indoor and outdoor settings with potential exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Use of heavy machinery.
Employment Status
  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime may be required based on workload.
  • No travel is necessary.
