Position Summary

The Avionics Technician will oversee various responsibilities related to avionics systems, adhering to the highest safety standards while executing their tasks and representing the organization with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and fabricate basic avionics and electrical systems.
  • Support complex system installations and related tasks.
  • Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interiors as necessary for avionics work.
  • Perform light sheet metal fabrications as needed for avionics installations or repairs.
  • Assist in setting up wiring harnesses and layouts.
  • Fabricate and install wiring harnesses.
  • Conduct antenna and coax installations.
  • Assist with electrical harness continuity and power checks.
  • Participate in ground operational tests and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with pre- and post-test flight protocols.
  • Accurately complete and attach tags to respective parts.
  • Adhere to testing protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting aircraft wiring diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of basic electrical components and systems.
  • Skilled in soldering and terminal/pin crimping techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities with both digital and analog systems.
  • Familiarity with autopilot systems.
  • Experience with basic avionics testing equipment.
  • Consistently produce high-quality work, demonstrating teamwork and a positive attitude.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current FAA A&P certificate or in progress of obtaining certification.
  • FCC License is advantageous.
  • Experience with helicopters is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AC43.13 standard aircraft wiring practices.
  • Sheet metal experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Ability to provide personal tools and toolbox.
  • Exhibit strong work ethics, including honesty and integrity.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • High technical aptitude and initiative.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb heights on various equipment.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Possess sufficient vision to perform essential functions safely.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Work Environment

  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings with potential exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels present.
  • Use of heavy machinery is required.

Employment Status

  • Full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime may be necessary based on workload.
