Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Accountant is a key role within the Accounting team at Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. and has a broad scope of responsibilities and high visibility to the Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting and CFO.
The preferred candidate will be a financial partner with operations and will provide managers with key financial information, assuring compliance with bank loan covenants and reporting requirements, and assisting the Assistant Controller in the daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions.
Triple-S Steel is a general line service center with special emphasis in the construction markets. From a small family retail operation, our business has grown to where we sell over 500,000 tons per year.

This role is not based in the office, unlike our CEO and senior executives.

The Senior Accountant will assist in all phases of the closing and reporting functions, including preparing journal entries, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts, and analyzing variances in income statement and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, global consolidated financial statements, specifically relating to the reconciliation of all intercompany accounts, performing required eliminating entries, and making the necessary FX translation adjustments.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP, corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
- Researching accounting rules and regulations and preparing accounting memorandums documenting company policies. Additionally, may coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
- Recommending improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures.
- Preparing audit schedules for annual, external audit and liaising with external auditors.
- Performing all aspects of fixed asset accounting and reporting, including maintaining fixed asset schedules, calculating depreciation, and organizing annual fixed asset inventory.
- Ensuring adherence to corporate policies and procedures and compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Liaising with tax consultants and assuming responsibility for tax-related issues within the corporation.
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
Requirements include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of three to five years of accounting experience.
- One to 2 years of experience in consolidated financial statement preparation preferred.
- Experience in audit, public accounting, or internal audit preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial services or distribution operations preferred.
- Experience working with established ERP and GL systems (including eStelplan, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor / CSD).
- Position may require minimal travel (domestic or international).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
