Coordination Responsibilities:
- Efficiently oversees the operations of the nursing unit.
- Assists with patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and changes using electronic tracking systems.
Patient Support: Provides routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.Assists in the implementation of patient care plans, focusing on daily living activities such as hygiene and mobility.Coordinates daily patient care activities efficiently.Supports nursing staff in facilitating patient transitions.Responds to patient requests and communicates needs to appropriate personnel.Assists patients with nutritional needs, including feeding and hydration.
Inventory Management: Orders and maintains unit supplies and equipment efficiently.Participates in budget preparation and monitoring.Helps ensure the unit operates within budget constraints.
Communication Skills: Communicates patient information and concerns to the interdisciplinary team.Facilitates communication among staff, visitors, and physicians.Manages unit communication systems effectively.Ensures timely relay of important patient information.
Customer Service Excellence: Welcomes and assists all customers, including patients and visitors, in a courteous manner.Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.Answers calls and directs inquiries appropriately.Exhibits politeness and professionalism in all interactions.
Recordkeeping and Reporting: Ensures organized medical records for effective communication.Maintains accurate access to essential patient data.Keeps unit-specific records as assigned.
Documentation: Records care provided using electronic medical records.
Monitoring Responsibilities: Monitors patient heart rates and rhythms, identifying irregularities.Utilizes monitoring equipment to observe multiple patients.Recognizes when equipment requires maintenance.May assist in cleaning and maintaining monitoring devices.
Regulatory Compliance: Adheres to professional and hospital standards.Complies with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required.Certification preferred but not mandatory.CPR certification must be obtained and maintained.Proficient in computer usage and software applications.Meets ongoing education requirements as determined by the unit.Completion of rhythm interpretation courses as required.Familiarity with office equipment is essential.Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary.Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
