Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Trillium Woods LCS. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, visitors, and staff to ensure security procedures meet the needs of the community.
  • Conduct regular rounds to maintain a secure environment, monitor surveillance cameras, and investigate any unusual activity.
  • Assist with special security needs, including employee, visitor, and community member support.
  • Provide written reports of community incidents to Plant Operations Director and other administration.
  • Maintain entrance security, shovel and clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms, and drive residents as needed.
  • Accomplish work in the order of priority set by supervisor and perform specific duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Monitor security cameras and safety panels, sign in and out keys to authorized persons, and assist residents and staff to parking areas as requested.
  • Respond to all code emergencies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to facilitate team functioning.
  • Assist residents and guests arriving and departing the community.
  • Open residents' doors as requested, park and retrieve resident and visitor vehicles, and assist with event setup as needed.
  • Assist in seasonal snow removal and attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Report all incidents/accidents immediately and report all unsafe/hazardous conditions and equipment immediately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information and respect and maintain resident confidentiality.
  • Follow all aspects of Standards of Conduct and Corporate Compliance.
  • Utilize proper use of body mechanics and personal protective devices.
  • Meet or exceed internal and external customer service expectations and promote the continuous improvement philosophy of the department and community.
  • Consistently demonstrate adherence to Infection Control policies and procedures in all aspects of performance.
  • Use equipment, services, and supplies in a cost-effective manner.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement programs.
  • Deliver packages, flowers, prescriptions, etc., to residents.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Must be able to make decisions quickly and in accordance with established protocol.
  • Must provide a superior customer service attitude to residents and guests at all times.
  • Proficient at performing multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have or be willing to be trained in first responder, first aid & CPR training.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
  • One year experience in security or two years customer service preferred.
  • Computer and electronic device proficiency to include MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the use of cell phone and tablets).
