The Security Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring a secure and safe atmosphere within the Children's Minnesota facilities. Responsibilities encompass monitoring the premises, addressing both urgent and routine incidents, and fostering a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff members.
- A valid driver's license is required, along with successful completion of background investigations.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
- Completion of use of force and BLS/AED training is mandatory within designated time frames.
A high school diploma is necessary. Previous experience in security or emergency response is advantageous. Familiarity with healthcare settings is beneficial.
- Preferred qualifications include POST skills, EMT, or OSHA certifications.
- Knowledge of de-escalation methods and legal aspects of arrest is preferred.
Exceptional communication skills, the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, and the capacity to maintain precise records are vital. A customer service orientation and the capability to manage diverse situations are essential.
- Must be able to work outdoors in challenging conditions, restrain individuals when necessary, and uphold confidentiality.
- Proficient communication with emergency personnel and operation of portable radio devices is required.
