**Job Summary:**

This is a critical role within the NYC Health + Hospitals organization, requiring a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to manage and maintain the organization's data center operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the data center, including the installation and de-installation of network devices, monitoring of the Z10 mainframe environment and peripherals, and verification of connectivity.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Installation and maintenance of network devices and cable management systems
  • Provide technical support to the network owner/user community
  • Maintain and update accurate documentation of Service Desk trouble tickets
  • Monitor system interfaces and other communication utilities, and take appropriate action
  • Install and rack servers, and perform upgrades and repairs as needed
  • Manage and maintain inventory of assets and equipment
  • Perform daily and monthly backups of data for offsite storage
  • Perform other related duties as required

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • Familiarization with a large-scale IBM Z mainframe environment, including TSO, Jes2, and Service Now Ticketing System
  • Knowledge of IBM 4000 and IBM 6500 systems, as well as Canon VS 4400
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
