Job Summary

Cook Inlet Tribal Council Inc is seeking a highly motivated and organized Supported Work Specialist to join our Career Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workforce development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and coordinate subsidized work experience programs to develop and enhance participant job skills and experience.
  • Recruit and engage employers to participate in the program, ensuring a strong pipeline of job opportunities for participants.
  • Provide ongoing case management and support to participants, including regular worksite visits and data collection.
  • Collaborate with the Education and Training Manager to develop and implement program strategies, ensuring alignment with CITC's mission and goals.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, Education, Communication, or a related field.
  • Two years of progressive experience in workforce development or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce development strategies, including subsidized work experience programs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare comprehensive reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two to seven years' experience in an AK Native Corporation or AK Native Non-profit setting and/or organization serving AN/AI people.
  • 2 years' experience administering Subsidized Work Experience programs and funding.
  • 2 years' experience administering, tracking, and reporting on a registered apprenticeship.

Working Conditions:

The Supported Work Specialist will primarily work in an office setting, with extended periods of time at a desk and on a computer. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with a team, with minimal supervision.
