Maintenance Manager Job Description

TAT Piedmont, a leading FAA and EASA Part 145 Repair Station, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery in our state-of-the-art facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate workers' activities to ensure efficient and safe operation of the plant/location.
  • Develop and implement maintenance systems, processes, and documentation to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure maintenance function performance.
  • Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and assist in diagnosing malfunctions.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements.
  • Interpret company policies and safety regulations to ensure compliance and a safe work environment.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Plan and implement routine and preventative maintenance procedures and assign personnel.
  • Manage third-party contractors performing facility maintenance, upgrades, or renovations.
  • Communicate with plant management regarding ongoing and future projects.
Requirements:
  • Five (5+) years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment in a maintenance capacity.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role with at least 5 people.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching a team to solve problems and improve processes.
  • Experience with production operations and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, robotics, and safety protocols.
Maintenance Technical Expertise:
  • Technical degree or completion of trade school, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals, with coating or plating experience a plus.
  • Successful examples of process improvement and kaizen.
  • Experience with equipment reliability and new equipment technology related to a start-up, major, or new model change.
  • Skills related to industrial processing, including PLC programming, controls, IoT data collection/storage/analysis, mechanical precision, vision system, robot maintenance, and predictive maintenance through condition monitoring.
  • Knowledge or experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles, including shop organization, visualization, problem-solving, and self-starting abilities.
  • Very good written and verbal skills, with the ability to complete basic reports.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings.
  • Self-starter, able to effectively supervise work teams and problem-solve to meet production demands.
  • Comfortable with computer systems and software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail.
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • On-call and shift work required.
