Substance Abuse Counselor Opportunity

Community Medical Services is seeking an experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our outpatient program, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from addictions to opioids and other illicit substances.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions.
  • Maintain and manage a caseload in compliance with regulatory standards and ratios.
  • Include family and natural supports in the client's treatment, per the client's preference.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of new developments in the field of substance use as required by specific state licensure.
  • Mentor less tenured CMS counselors as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • No license required, but active LAC license or above preferred.
  • Behavioral health experience in Counseling or Case Management preferred.
