About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at the Phoenix Job Corps Center. As a counselor, you will play a vital role in promoting the recovery and wellness of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs and circumstances.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions to create a supportive community where students can share experiences, gain insights, and learn valuable coping skills.
  • Develop and deliver substance abuse prevention and education programs to increase awareness and promote a culture of sobriety within the center.
  • Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, working collaboratively with other staff members and external resources as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and progress, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school preferred.
  • A minimum of one-year experience in drug/alcohol counseling or related field required.
  • Valid, active, unrestricted in-state License or Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling/Prevention required.
  • Regional approval required.
  • Licensed or certified Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC, CADC, or equivalent).
  • Experience in substance abuse counseling and treatment planning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in substance abuse treatment.
