Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Therapist to join our team at Ak-Chin Indian Community. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will provide counseling services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and develop programs to promote awareness and education in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, write progress notes, and make referrals as needed.
  • Counsel clients individually or in group settings, utilizing various therapeutic modalities.
  • Remain current on the latest research and best practices in substance abuse treatment.
  • Develop and implement programs to educate youth and community members about substance abuse, including drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and gambling.
  • Collaborate with local behavioral health and social service agencies to provide comprehensive care.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Counseling or a related field, with at least two years of experience in substance abuse.
  • License from the State of Arizona, LASAC, LISAC, or LPC.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and independently.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and ability to meet insurance carrier requirements.
  • Pass an extensive background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree, LISAC, and four years of experience in substance abuse.
