Job Description

Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees the upkeep of the interior and exterior of the assigned facility, responsible for direct staff assigned in the support of facility maintenance. This role may require collaboration with third-party companies, including service providers, property management agencies, and regulatory agencies. The Facilities Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing projects within a defined budget and timeline, ensuring the preservation of the property's good condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct facility inspections to ensure good working conditions and anticipate upcoming repairs or maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate necessary repairs, balancing disruption to the business, cost, and timeline.
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
  • Supervise facilities support staff and external contractors.
  • Control activities such as parking space allocation, waste disposal, and building security.
  • Work collaboratively with other managers across the organization.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain service contracts and departmental budgets.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a facilities supervisor or relevant position.
  • Well-versed in technical operations and facilities management best practices.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. An Associate's degree or technical degree is preferred, along with 0-2 years of customer service or general business experience. Prior knowledge of general maintenance applications and terminology is highly desirable but not required.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software applications. Will be expected to develop proficiency with Apple iOS.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required, along with good public relations, public speaking, and customer service skills. Ability to read, interpret, understand, and explain documents such as sales processes, product specifications, or warranty manuals.

Professional Skills:

Must be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth. Must be proactive, self-disciplined, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow projects through to completion. Attention to detail is required. Must be able to demonstrate organizational skills, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, type, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

The work environment for this job includes a combination of manufacturing and warehouse-type environments as well as typical office environments. The noise level of this job is typically moderate but varies depending on the location of the facility.
