Job Title: Transportation Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Ajulia Executive Search. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing and improving operational practices, allocating resources and materials to meet project deadlines, and tracking and forecasting operational trends and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve operational practices to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Allocate resources and materials to meet project deadlines and achieve business objectives
  • Track and forecast operational trends and analysis to inform business decisions
  • Provide daily operations oversight for outside teams and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with management and customers to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices to optimize operations
  • Develops warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process workflow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout; implementing changes
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including approving time cards, scheduling time off, and assigning breaks
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Conduct safety investigations and draft incident reports for executive review
  • Finalizing program contract and scopes of work budget including but not limited to the writing and/or review of proposals to determine profit & loss feasibility, labor costs, timeline, funding, staffing requirements to meet business unit and company goals
  • Formalize policies and procedures in accordance to HR regulations
  • Must be able to maintain and grow existing business
  • Monitor operational performance, assess quality and delivery requirements, track KPI metrics, and publish monthly results
  • Oversee all team operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum five years of warehouse and transportation experience
  • Manage the planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Experience in Transportation Supervision
  • Complete understanding of DOT Rules and Regulations
  • Samsara and the FMCSA
  • Previous experience in operations or other related fields
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
