About the Position

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency dedicated to providing exceptional services to individuals with disabilities. We are seeking an experienced Residential Program Manager to join our team in Columbia, SC.

As a Residential Program Manager, you will lead a team of professionals in providing person-centered care tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will oversee day-to-day operations, challenge your team to achieve programmatic goals, and support individuals in their daily routines.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and train staff to support program initiatives, daily routines, and individual needs.
  • Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Provide training on routines, including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Manage team performance through effective communication, training, performance management, and employee recognition.
  • Develop and implement activity programs, including the Meaningful Day curriculum.
  • Communicate with families and guardians as needed.
  • Develop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP) with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure individuals receive support per their ISP, including medication management, meal planning, and behavior management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely program documentation and billable records.
  • Assist with monitoring finances and ensuring purchases are approved and documented.
  • Monitor individuals' health and medical needs and report concerns.
  • Manage relationships with families and guardians.
  • Ensure work locations and vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • May be required to fill shifts due to staffing issues.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Complete all state and agency required training.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of state regulatory agency operations and standards.
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.

Working Conditions:
  • Work in residential programs, day programs, and in the community.
  • Schedule may change due to business needs and may include evening and weekend hours.
  • Required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff.
  • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be required.
  • May be required to transport individuals using your own vehicle or company-provided vehicles.
  • May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds.
  • May assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory individuals.
  • May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases.
