Job Title: Senior Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Emory L. Bennett State Veterans' Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, Volusia County, FL.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to our residents, assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. You will also be responsible for observing and reporting any changes in resident condition, as well as providing escort services to appointments and activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Observe and report any changes in resident condition to the primary nurse or RN supervisor
  • Provide escort services to appointments and activities
  • Complete assignments timely, completely, and accurately
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner
  • Perform restorative nursing measures as outlined in the care plan
  • Measure and record vital signs as assigned
  • Measure and record intake and output according to the care plan
  • Use appropriate technique for mechanical lifts, transferring, turning, and positioning
  • Provide end-of-life care and use appropriate techniques for assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living
Requirements:
  • Current Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Willingness and ability to work a schedule that includes weekends and holidays
  • Basic computer skills
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process, including a Level II Background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of experience in a long-term care facility working with a geriatric population
  • Possession of a valid CPR certification
