My Florida Corp Defunct is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Weekend Warrior Program at the Emory L. Bennett State Veterans' Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, FL.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This is a temporary position with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist with feeding, nourishments, and transportation to meal service areas.
  • Observe, identify, and report resident concerns/needs to the supervisor.
  • Escort residents to appointments as required.
  • Complete assignments timely, completely, and accurately.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
  • Perform restorative nursing measures as outlined in the care plan.
  • Measure and record vital signs as assigned.
  • Measure and record intake and output according to the care plan.
  • Observe, monitor, and report symptoms of potential skin breakdown and/or pressure ulcers to the primary nurse.
  • Use appropriate technique for mechanical lifts, transferring, turning, and positioning, range of motion exercises, recognizing changes that place a resident at risk for pressure ulcers and falls.
  • Provide end-of-life care and use appropriate techniques for assisting and providing the required nursing care for assigned residents in the area of ADLs using proper technique.
  • Follow facility-established policies and procedures when providing all care and dining room protocol.
  • Respond to cognitively impaired residents or residents with difficult behaviors, including Dementia/Alzheimer's.
  • Observe conditions and report behavioral changes to the primary nurse/RN Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all resident safety devices are used as outlined in the care plan.
  • Provide escort for resident appointments, etc., as assigned.
  • Document all care given on the appropriate form and/or utilizing the electronic patient care documentation system.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents.
  • Ensure efficient use of supplies and document in the electronic inventory tracking system.
  • Respond to residents' requests and needs timely and appropriately.
  • Answer resident call lights promptly.
  • Notify the nurse of any changes in the resident's condition.
  • Complete assignments from the primary nurse or RN supervisor within the time allowed.
  • Attend all required facility training.
  • Perform related work as required.
Requirements:
  • Current Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Willingness and ability to work a schedule that is inclusive of the evening shift, night shift, or weekends only.
  • Willingness and ability to work at least one shift per pay period unless otherwise approved by the Director of Nursing.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process, including but not limited to, a Level II Background check, fingerprinting, and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience in a long-term care facility working with a geriatric population.
  • Possess a valid CPR certification.
Work Environment:

This position is in the Other Personnel Services (OPS) system.
